Based in the Te Awamutu office, Emma is a true Waipā local, having spent most of her life in Te Awamutu. With 25 years in the legal world, she’s done it all — from office junior to becoming a registered legal executive in 2006, and later completing her law degree at the University of Waikato. More recently, she has been working as in-house counsel for New Zealand’s largest tertiary education provider, bringing valuable insight from a complex, high-level legal environment.
Emma is known for her friendly, approachable style and her knack for turning complicated legal matters into clear, practical advice. She genuinely enjoys helping people feel confident and supported through life’s big decisions.

Sian Atkinson

Sian is a born-and-bred Waikato local, working from Te Awamutu and Raglan. She will visit you at your home and work around your needs. Sian operated her own practice as a Base Lawyer before forming Sage Legal.
Sian's name reflects her Welsh heritage (pronounced "Sharn") from her Dad's side but is also proudly of Ngāi Tahu and Ngāti Rangi descent through her Mum.
With over 16 years working in law, Sian specialises in property, trusts, wills, EPAs, commercial matters, and Māori land — including occupation licences, leasing, KiwiSaver, and succession. She genuinely cares for her clients and takes the time to guide them through each step.
Outside of work, you'll find her outside, camping with the family, coaching her daughter's netball team, or cheering on her son at touch and rugby or covering the fort while her husband is out fishing.
Sian co-founded Sage Legal with Emma to work flexibly around her clients while delivering a more personal, transparent fee based advice— one built on integrity, authenticity, and genuinely caring for the people she works with.
Saige Wallace
Law Clerk
Saige is a law clerk at Sage Legal based in the Te Awamutu office. She consistently sets high standards for herself, both professionally and personally. She is known for her strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to go the extra mile for clients and colleagues alike.
Born and raised in Te Awamutu, Saige is proud to be of Ngāti Maniapoto, Ngāti Rangi and Ngāpuhi descent.
She is currently in her final year of her law degree at the University of Waikato and is on track to graduate in 2027.
Outside of work, Saige enjoys spending time with her two tamariki, as well as her wider whānau and friends. She also has a passion for travelling and staying active through sport.
